  • Hey fellas,  I tried this dal with jeera rice and turned out well.  I was glad that my family loved it.  This dal goes well with ghee rice and rotis too.



Ingredients

Toor dal : 1/2 cup
Onion: 1 cup
Tomatoes : 1cup
Green chillies: around 4 to 6
Mustard seeds: 1/2 tbsp
Curry leaves
Cumin seeds: 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder : 1 tbsp
Asafoetida
Pepper seeds:1/2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tbsp
Garam masala: 2 tbsp
Chillie powder : 1/2 tbsp
Oil: 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Coriander to garnish


Method

 1. Wash the Toor dal for couple of times with water then pressure it for 2 to 3 whistles by adding 1.5 cups of water and turmeric powder along the Toor dal.
2. Once the Toor dal is cooked and cooled smash it with spoon or whisk well , Keep it aside.
3. Take a pan add oil, mustard seeds , cumin seeds,pepper seeds and allow it to splutter.
4.Now add onions , fry till it turns golden brown.
Add green chillies, ginger garlic paste and spice powders that are mentioned above , stir for an minute.
5.Now add tomatoes to pan,  add smashed dal,  asafoetida, salt and 1 cup of water.  Bring it to boil , once you can see the oil floating on the top switch of the heat.  (Adjust the taste with salt and chillies if required ).
6.Garnish with coriander and ready to serve







Ingredients


Paneer - 1 cup cube sized chopped
Onions - 1.5 cup ( divided them into two parts 1cup + 1/2 cup)
Tomato puree - 1 cup
Coriander
Salt
Capsicum - 1/2 cup
Fresh creamcream (4-5 spoons)
Oil - 5 spoons
Ginger-garlic paste - 3 spoon
Garam masala powder -3 spoon
Kastoor methi
Coriander seeds (dhaniya)
Red chillies

Method

Step-1

Dry roast 2 spoons of coriander seeds and dry chillies till you smell the aroma,turn off the heat and allow it to cool. Later grind them coarsely .


Step-2 

Take a pan add oil ,onions and saute till they turn brown ,add ginger-garlic paste, grinded masala powder, garam masala ,salt, tomato puree , add little amount of water and allow it to boil.

Simultaneously take another pan add oil ,onions(1/2cup) ,capsicum and fry for a minute.

Step-3

When gravy thickens add fresh cream and saute for a minute. Now add fried capsicum and chopped panned . Turn of the heat . Decorate with methi and coriander leaves.

Ready to serve.

Ingredients

Finely chopped pineapple - 1 cup
Urad dal - 2 spoons
Dry red chilli - 4 to5
Turmeric powder - 1 spoon
Mustard seeds - 1 spoon
Curry leaves
Coconut powder -  1 cup
Jaggery - 1/4 inch
Salt
Water - 1/2 cup

Method

Take a thick bottomed kadai add water, pineapple to it and make it boil for 5-10 minutes . Strain the excess water and keep pineapple aside .
Take a frying pan add urad dal,chillies and saute for a minute. Now along with these fried items add turmeric powder , coconut powder to it and coarsely grind it using little amount of water 
Take a pan add oil,mustard seeds,curry leaves,grinded masala and water , jaggery ,salt to it and allow it boil for half a minute . Later add the boiled pineapple to it and turn the heat off.
Tastes good with rotis or chapati . 

Ingredients

I've used 5 kinds of spinach 
1.Dill 
2.Fenugreek spinach
3.Mountain spinach
4.Amaranth spinach
5.Palak leaves

You need

Onions - 1 cup
Garlic - 6 to 7 pieces
Dry chillies - 5
Channa dal - 1.5 cup
Tomatoes - 3 to 4
Coriander
Coconut powder - 1.5 cup
Cumin - 1 spoon
Samabar powder - 1 spoon
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves

Method


Wash the spinach for couple of times and them to the cooker, add onion ,garlic, dry chilli,channa dal , coriander, tomatoes (3) and little amount of water and pressure it for 2 whistle. Allow the cooker to cool and strain the excess water and grind the boiled spinach .

Take a blender add coconut powder ,cumin seeds, sambar powder , 1 small tomato, onion, garlic and blend well. 

Note :
I've used few spoons of onion and 2 garlic pieces while blending .
Need to blend thoroughly one whip is enough as the spinched has pressured before .

Take a pan add oil, mustard seeds,curry leaves and grinded masala, blended spinach to it. Add live ttle amount of water ,salt to it . Boil for a minute .

Ready to taste with rotis,rice or ragi ball.

Ingredients 


Cooked and mashed toor dhal- 1 cup
Tamarind- size of a lemon
Dried red chillies- 5 nos
Green chillies- 4 nos
Curry leaves- 20 leaflets
Jeera seeds- 2 tspns
Black pepper- 1 tspn
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tspn
Asafoetida powder- 1/4 tspn
Mustard- 1/2 tspn
Fenufreek - 1/2 tspn
Jaggery - a small piece
Garlic- 3 pods
Salt
Ghee- 1 tspn



Method 


Take cooked and mashed toor dhal. Mix 2 cups of water to it and keep aside.

Take tamarind and soak it in 3/4 cup of  warm water for 10 minutes. Extract the tamarind juice by squeezing it for 2 times by added additional amount of water .

To this add broken red chillies, crushed green chillies, curry leaves,  a small jaggery piece, salt, turmeric and asafoetida powder.

Boil this mixture well until it becomes half of its original volume. Now add the cooked dhal and partially ground jeera and black pepper seeds to the.
Boil this mixture again until you see forth(bubble formation). Remove from fire.

Take a pan add ghee and  heat it, now add mustard,fenugreek and jeera seeds. When they splutter add curry leaves and crushed garlic. Now transfer this tadka to the rasam. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Onion-  1 cup
Tomato-1 cup

Daniya powder
Chilli powder- 2 spoons
Cashew
Poppy seeds- 4 spoons
Cloves- 1 inch
Coconut powder-8 spoons
Coriander
Salt

Method


Take a mixi jar add garlic,chilli, ginger and little amount of water and grind it .

Now take a cooker add oil, mustard seeds,jeera,curry leaves and grinded masala,onion tomato,potatoes, peas,turmeric powder,, daniya powder- 2 spoons, chilli powder,1 glass of water ,close a lid and let it cook under pressure .(1 whistle)

Take a mixi jar add poppy seeds,cashews,coconut powder, cloves and grind it .

Add this paste to the boiled kurma , add salt to ones requirement and make a boil atlast sprinkle some coriander to make a perfect kurma.

Preparation

 Heat oil in a kadai add curry leaves, sesame,green chillies,tomato puree, spring onion which is finely chopped ,add peas and fry till they appear to be smashed, now add sambar powder ,chilli powder,garam masala,vineger and salt. Decorate with coriander.
Spring onion sabji 


Ingredients 

Helikaye 

Oil

Chilli powder

Fenugreek seeds(menthya)

Salt

Mustard seeds 

Cumin seeds 

Turmeric powder

Preparation

In a plastic or glass container add chopped helikaye and salt in an alternative layer and keep under sunlight for two days.
        Fry(dry) menthya,mustard seeds,cumin seeds and grind.
      Take a pan heat the oil add mustard seeds, helikaye,turmeric powder,grinded powder and chilli powder mix well and ready to taste.

How to prepare

Red dry chillies, coriander seeds, coconut powder,curry leaves which has to be fried along with cloves and cardamom . Grind
coarsely.
